Write for Grow With Hydroponics

Share Your Passion & Inspire the Hydroponics Community

Are you passionate about hydroponic gardening, sustainable farming, or indoor growing? We invite writers, growers, and innovators to share their insights, tutorials, and real-world experiences with thousands of readers who love growing smarter, cleaner, and greener.

We're Open to Real Writers. Are You One of Them?

Let's be straightforward with each other. We get a lot of guest post pitches — most of them are templated emails from link builders who haven't read a single article on this site. That's fine, it's how the internet works. But it means we've had to raise the bar considerably for what we'll actually publish.

If you're a genuine writer, a working grower, a researcher, or someone who actually has something useful to say about indoor hydroponics — we genuinely want to hear from you. We have over 1.7 million readers who are engaged, curious, and serious about growing. They deserve content that's worth their time. If that's what you bring, we'll work with you.

Below you'll find everything: what we accept, what we don't, our editorial standards, pricing for sponsored and link placements, and how to submit. Read it all before reaching out — it'll save us both time and get your submission approved faster.

Who You'll Be Writing For

Understanding our audience will help you pitch the right angle. These aren't casual Pinterest browsers — they're committed growers.

Beginner to intermediate growers
Setting up their first DWC or Kratky system, learning nutrient basics, trying to figure out why their lettuce is yellowing.
Home & apartment growers
Limited space, limited budget. They want practical solutions — not industrial-scale advice that doesn't translate to a 4×4 tent.
Data-driven enthusiasts
Users of our tool suite who want to understand the science — not just get a number, but know why the number matters.
Global community
Readers from the UK, US, Australia, South Asia, and beyond — content should be broadly accessible, not region-locked.

Stay within these topic areas and you're in the right place. If your idea is adjacent but doesn't fit neatly, pitch it anyway — we'll let you know.

Payment: All payments are processed upfront via Wise, bank transfer, or cryptocurrency (USDT/BTC/ETH) before publication. We'll confirm your slot and send a payment link after reviewing your topic. If your submission is rejected after payment for quality reasons, you'll receive a full refund or a free revision opportunity. We don't accept articles written entirely by AI — we run plagiarism and AI detection checks on every submission.

Editorial Guidelines

These aren't arbitrary rules — each one exists because we've seen what happens when it's ignored. Following them makes the review process faster and your chances of approval much higher.

Word count
Minimum 1,000 words for Standard. Premium and Sponsored tiers have higher minimums as listed above. Shorter articles — no matter how good — don't rank well and won't be accepted. If your topic can't comfortably reach 1,000 words, it's probably not the right angle.
Originality
Your article must be 100% original — not published on your own site, on Medium, LinkedIn, or anywhere else before or after submission. We run Copyscape checks. If it's flagged as duplicate after publication, we'll remove it without refund.
Tone & voice
Write like you're explaining something to a smart friend — not like you're filing a report. Avoid corporate-speak, filler phrases ("In today's fast-paced world…"), and robotic structure. Be direct. Use contractions. Use the second person ("you"). If it reads like an AI wrote it, we'll ask for a full rewrite.
Structure
Use H2 subheadings every 300–400 words. Keep paragraphs to 3–4 sentences maximum. Use bullet points for lists of 4 or more items. Include a brief intro (what the article covers and why it matters) and a clear conclusion or takeaway at the end.
Links
Standard tier: 1 do-follow link to your site (must be contextually relevant — not forced).
Premium and Sponsored: 2 do-follow links.
We also encourage you to link naturally to our existing articles where relevant — it helps with review speed and article flow.
Prohibited link destinations: gambling, adult content, crypto, pharma, payday loans, or any site with a Moz spam score above 30%.
Images
Include 1–3 images if possible. They must be royalty-free (Unsplash, Pexels, Pixabay) or your own. Send image files separately as attachments — not embedded in a Word doc. Include suggested alt text for each image. We'll handle formatting.
Author bio
40–60 words. Third person ("Jane is a…"). Include your name, what you do, how long you've been growing or writing about hydroponics, and one link (your website, LinkedIn, or Instagram). For Premium and Sponsored tiers, include a headshot — minimum 400×400px, clear background preferred.

How to Submit — Step by Step

The process is simple. We keep it this way deliberately — the easier it is to submit, the easier it is for us to review quickly.

1
Choose your package and pitch your topic first
Don't write the full article until we've confirmed the topic. Send us a short pitch — 2–3 sentences on your angle, your target audience within our readership, and which package you're interested in. This avoids wasted effort on both sides.
2
Email us with the right subject line
Send your pitch or full draft to: write.growwithhydroponics@gmail.com
Subject line: Guest Post – [Package Name] – [Your Topic]
Example: Guest Post – Premium – How to Manage VPD in a 2×4 Tent
3
We review and confirm within 1–2 business days
If your topic is approved, we'll confirm the slot, send a payment link, and give you a deadline. If it overlaps with content we already have or have planned, we'll suggest an alternative angle rather than just saying no.
4
Submit your full article & pay
Send the article as a Google Doc (with commenting enabled) or a clean .docx file. Attach images separately. Payment is processed at this stage via PayPal or bank transfer.
We edit, format, and publish
We'll make light editorial edits for clarity and house style — nothing that changes your voice or meaning. You'll get a notification email with the live URL once published. We do not send articles back for approval before publishing unless there are major content issues.
Ready to pitch your article?
We read every email personally. Expect a reply within 1–2 business days.

Common Questions from Writers

If something isn't answered here, just ask — we don't bite.

Can I submit a free guest post without paying?
In very rare cases, yes — if your article is exceptionally high quality, brings unique research or first-hand expertise, and fits a gap we're actively trying to fill. This isn't the norm though. Most free submissions we've accepted in the past were from growers with documented, verifiable expertise (researchers, commercial growers, agronomists). If you think you qualify, say so in your pitch and explain why. We'll be honest with you.
Can I use AI writing tools to help write my article?
We're realistic — AI tools are part of how many writers work now. Using them for research, outlines, or grammar checks is fine. What we don't accept is an article that's clearly AI-generated with a human name on it. We run AI detection on every submission. If the article reads like a language model wrote it and there's no genuine human voice, experience, or perspective woven through, it gets rejected. The fix is simple: write from your actual experience. That's what makes articles worth reading.
How long does the review process take?
Topic pitches: 1–2 business days. Full article review after submission: 2–4 business days. Publication after payment and approval: within 2–5 business days depending on your package (Sponsored is fastest at 2 days). We'll always tell you where you are in the process — no ghosting, no radio silence.
Will you edit my article before publishing?
Yes — light editing for grammar, clarity, formatting consistency, and internal linking is standard. We don't rewrite your content or change your voice. If we need to make structural changes, we'll let you know why. We don't require your approval before publishing unless the edits are substantial.
Can I update my article after it's published?
Minor corrections (factual errors, broken links, updated data) — yes, just email us and we'll fix it promptly. Requests to add additional links, change the anchor text of existing links, or substantially alter the content after publication are not included in any package and will be quoted separately.
Do you offer bulk pricing or ongoing partnerships?
Yes. If you're an agency or a brand looking to place multiple articles over time, reach out directly and we can discuss a custom package. Ongoing partnerships — where we commit to a publishing schedule in exchange for discounted rates — are available for clients who've already published at least one article with us and maintained quality standards.
